Before being appointed to CEO and President in November 2013, Jeff served as chief revenue officer at Spanning since joining the team in August 2012. Prior to Spanning, Jeff was the president of Manticore Technology, a leading provider of SaaS-based marketing automation solutions, where he led Manticore through three successive years of revenue growth in the highly competitive marketing automation market.
Jeff has over 20 years of marketing and general management experience in both entrepreneurial and Fortune 500 technology companies. He was the co-founder and CEO of Deepfile Corporation (now called StoredIQ), the VP of market development at Digby, and the first vice president of marketing for Vignette Corporation. Jeff started his career with NCR Corporation and held senior management positions with Compaq Computer Corporation. He has also served as an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Texas Graduate School of Business. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at San Diego in Management Science.
Mike brings over 20 years of enterprise software development experience to Spanning. Previously, he was at Initiate Systems (acquired by IBM) where he was directly responsible for all planning, staffing, development, testing, and documentation efforts related to releases of the company’s Master Data Management (MDM) software products. Prior to Initiate, Mike held senior level engineering positions at Powered (acquired by Dachis Group), Vignette, MITRE, and BDM Federal (now TRW).
Mike began his career in the US Army, where he served as a Platoon Leader and Company/Battalion advisor for several full scale deployments. Mike led a team through Desert Storm, receiving a Bronze Star and a Presidential Unit Citation.
Mike holds a BA in Physics and Philosophy from Knox College and an MS in Computer Science from The George Washington University.
As vice president of marketing at Spanning, Melanie is responsible for building the company’s brand, driving awareness and generating demand for the company’s industry-leading cloud application data protection solutions. Prior to Spanning, Melanie spent seven years as the Director of Marketing for SailPoint where she launched the company and established it as the market-leading identity and access management vendor.
Melanie brings 20 years of marketing, sales and communications experience working as a leader in B2B marketing agencies, early-stage technology start-ups and some of the world’s largest technology companies, including Motorola, IBM/Tivoli, Sun Microsystems, Compaq Computer, SailPoint and Waveset.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas in Austin in Communications.
